The Autumn collection has been spilt into two mixes representing both sides of the Bargrooves sound and those tracks which are currently leaping our of Ben’s box – from funky uplifiting vocals to deep techy and dubby.
CD1 kicks off with ‘Closer’ a sublime track by Soularis sung by Mandy Edge oozing sensuality which blends straight into ‘Jungo’ by Hanna Hais mixed by DJ Meme who has recently been described by M8 as a DJ’s secret weapon, and has caught the attention of the likes of Dimitri From Paris amongst others. With the likes of Physics, Jay-J’s remix of Ananda Project, Kings of Groove, Ruben Alvarez and Soul Central making appearances across CD 1 you know this really is a good old fashioned Bargrooves mix.
CD2 delves directly into deep tech house territory - Two chuggy dubby numbers from Smooth Science and Afrobeats lead into the big, spacey creation by The Timewriter, with its haunting female vocal weaving through a deep luscious baseline. The mix stays on the deep tip through another track from Scope on Urbantorque and the very sophisticated simple sound of ‘A Barcode’ from Plastic City. The pace of the mix picks up with another Scope belter, ‘Lookin’ Back, Thinkin’ Forward’, with the characteristic baseline layered with luscious synth sounds. Finishing with massive ‘Half Man Half Amazing’ track by Spin Science .
