Melba Moore – My Heart Belongs to You
"The joy of the Lord is your strength". Truer words may never have been sung, and who better than the legendary Melba Moore to sing them? Soulfuric is proud to present "My Heart Belongs to You," the next chapter in this prolific performer’s career, one that has always had a strong connection to the world's dance floors.

Moore gained attention and acclaim on Broadway during the 70s, but it was as an icon of the disco era that she skyrocketed to fame and success with club hits such as "Pick Me Up and I’ll Dance" (a Paradise Garage favorite) and "You Stepped Into My Life." Now, Moore teams up with the gospel-House master Ron Carroll for a serious gospel infusion, resulting in a gloriously uplifting track.
With a bouncy, jingly piano riff, a smooth walking bassline and a hard-hitting, foot-stomping beat, Moore sounds brighter and more energetic than ever. Lyrically, Moore touches the soul, testifying on the many lessons she has learned through her professional and personal ups and downs, and the strong spiritual connection she has found with the Lord.

As an added perk, top notch remixes are supplied by world renowned producers Jon Cutler (Distant, MN2S) and Wah Wah (Fluential). Utilizing a deep bass line, smooth chords and sultry synth lines, Jon Cutler smoothes it out and takes it a bit deeper. For those who like it a bit tougher, Wah Wah infuses the track with their energetic big room flare.

Already buzzing from its many spins at this year's Winter Music Conference, this track's momentum will only continue to grow as Ms. Moore makes her shining re-emergence onto the dance music scene!

Melba Moore Biography
From the start of her career in the ground-breaking musical Hair, Melba Moore has broken boundaries and arrived at milestone after milestone. As a member of "the tribe" in Hair, she originated the role of Dionne and went on to replace Diane Keaton, becoming the first black actress to replace a white actress in a leading role on Broadway.

Not content to sing one song or stay in one place for long, 1970 saw Ms. Moore step into the role of Lutiebelle Gussimae Jenkins in Purlie, where she made history once again, winning a host of awards (including the Tony) for her show-stopping performances of "I Got Love" and "Walk Him Up the Stairs."

Melba Moore was now poised to step into the music industry as a major recording artist. She catapulted herself into the mainstream with a string of club hits including "This Is It" and the Grammy award-nominated "Lean on Me." While starring in Timbuktu on Broadway with Eartha Kitt, Moore released Melba, which included "Pick Me Up and I'll Dance” and the eternal classic "You Stepped Into My Life." This was not only the height of Disco's mainstream success, but the beginning of records being remixed for the dance floor. Melba has never lost this connection to Clubland.

Through the 80s and into the 90's Melba continued to act and release music, but she also faced many personal and professional challenges, including divorce and bankruptcy. She was back on top once again with her 1998 one-woman show Sweet Songs-A Journey In One Life, proving that her light had not been extinguished.

Moore's spirituality has been a central part of her life, helping her to overcome hardships while always striving to be her very best. This was showcased on her Gospel releases I'm Still Here(2002) and Nobody But Jesus(2004). Her latest uplifting release sees Melba revisiting her days on the dancefloor with "My Heart Belongs to You," produced by Ron Carroll and released on Soulfuric Records.
Moore continues to show the world that not only is she "Still Here", but her light is as bright as ever. Come listen, and let her music warm your soul.
