Ross Couch
Everythings' Connected EP
Body Rhythm Records

The 'Everythings Connected' EP sees Ross Couch delve into his tech house roots to produce 3 stunning new tracks. The title track bristles with energy, working itself into a rhythmical frenzy with every layer adding to the groove as it builds and builds into a memorable breakdown. 'Tonight' is the most emotive of the three tracks, going deeper with some beautiful synth chords and vocal stabs whilst retaining the tech influence. 'On A Wing And A Prayer' rounds off the release with african vocal chants and percussion perfectly blending with the deep and tech elements to provide a highly atmospheric track with a real sense of momentum.

Candy Apple ft. Anjou

Onto release number three and it’s more of the same high quality... Candy Apple (aka Martin Lodge and Justin Canton) have been producing quality soulful beats for over 10 years now. Featuring on vocals is rising soulful star Anjou, who has featured on several releases with Candy Apple and has a fantastic future ahead of her. A remix package that will instantly start any deep house fan’s mouth watering is headed by Nottingham’s finest, Inland Knights.

Chymera
Wish
NRK

Chymera returns to NRK Music, this time with a two track EP of slick and deep techno house. Last year's "Wish" on NRK won him best dance track at the Irish Dance Music Awards last year and helped establish him as a producer to watch.
"2 Below" is a gorgeous techno track; starts off very delicate and just keeps building and building with some warming chords, swirling melody and driving drums, reaching a chaotically soulful peak, let this track wash all over you!
The second cut, "Saphiron", ploughs a more housier route for Chymera, with a very functional production of deep keys, groovy bass and tight percussion.

Matthew Bandy & Jevne featuring Fourfeet
Living In My Future
Conya Records

Matthew Bandy got in touch with house music in the early 90’s living in Kentucky,
pulling the best from Chicago, Detroit and New York flavoured grooves into his sets
and soon throwing his own events bringing dj’s such as Halo, Kevin Yost, Johnny Fiasco, Terrance Parker into town.
Jevne is from Minneapolis and is bringing a new energy and live element to house music! Laying down deep, smooth and funky grooves live with a 6-string bass guitar while he mixes an infectious blend of original beats.
Matthew Bandy and Jevne managed to get no other than the mighty Fourfeet for the vocals of their collaboration. Fourfeet a.k.a. Justin Thompson put himself on the house music map back in 2005 with his vocals on “Back In My Life” by Chuck Love,
which was released on Miguel Migs Salted Label.

Souldynamic Feat. Nicole Tyler
Gonna' Fly
Duff Note

Starting things off for Duffnote in 2008 are the Italian dynamic duo Luca Ciotoli & Stefano De Magistris or Souldynamic to you and us. Demonstrating some superb keyboard playing and arrangements, coupled with Nicole’s sumptuous vocal, the boys have delivered a top draw original mix. Their alternative mix doesn’t mess about with it only employing some subtle tweaks here and there.
On remix duty we have the ever impressive MoD taking things on the deep main room tip. Tough beats, minimal synth hooks and sparing but effective use of the vocal making up for an ideal peak hour mix. Next in line, Earnshaw lays down his “Blueroom” vibe. With the Hammond, Wurlitzer and harmonica dealing with the groove, Nicole dishing out the adlibs and if you listen carefully, a Zippo lighter nestling in the beats, this is a no nonsense gritty, sexy dub with attitude. There’s a Dubstrumental included for the
a-capella happy DJ. Dark glasses and cigars are optional!

Of particular note on this EP is the appearance of Larry Fives. Having kept a fairly low profile so far the mysterious one here returns a remix favour to the Inland Knights, who reworked the track ‘Dance Me, Dance You’ on his debut EP for Drop a couple of months back.

Soularis & Kenny Thomas
If You Believe
SunSoaked

Music fashions may ebb and flow, but great voices never go out of fashion. This is why it’s time for a new celebration of one of the best vocalists ever heard in British soul music, Kenny Thomas.
Kenny made a huge mark during the golden years with Chrysalis’ Cooltempo label, which included two top ten albums, 1991’s voices and 1993’s sequel Wait for Me, the top ten smash Thinking About Your Love, three more top 20 hits in Outstanding, Best of You and Trippin On Your Love, and four further top 40 singles.
Now, following on from his recent success with “Keep The Fires Burning” (Soul-Fi Records), Kenny teams up with Soularis to bring you another future soulful classic “If You Believe”. Already being championed by the likes of Terry Jones, this shows Kenny’s return to what he loves and does best, “dance music with soul”

Son of Sound
Trial By Fire EP
Speak Recordings

Son of Sound returns on his own imprint with the Trial By Fire EP – three tracks guaranteed to satisfy the nu-disco, electro and houseketeers .
Ever After Hours infects with an opening blast of Levan(ish) drum textures, synth-stabs and a post-disco groove that channels peak hour at the Paradise Garage. The drums continue to a build that segues a huge baseline and a dubbed-out frenzy carries you out into the morning.
The Yes & No is the answer when asked if it’s possible to cross belearic elements with New York post-disco grit. The track delivers the percussive mid-tempo feel of a classic mid-80’s garage tune and all the melody of expressive italo-disco. Percussive drum tracks, live bass-line and New-Wave style chant lay on a bed of expressive melody lines to complete this mid-tempo groove.
Did I Hear Movement? turns the tempo up with an electro-disco feel. The track delivers for the big and small rooms with its percussive drums, electro synth-base, mesmerizing chords and pulsating arpeggiator lines.

Terrence T
Stars (Milton Jackson/Hiro Remixes)
TronicSole

Terrence T's finest moment to date gets the remix treatment courtesy of Milton Jackson and an edit from the up and coming Hiro. The original as supported by Jimpster, Funk Da Void and Shur I kan was ripe for a remix and Milton's take is one that will rock more than just the deep house dancefloor, while Hiro injects a lil of his unique brand of energy into the classic original.

Keith Thompson presents the debut of the South African Young Guns Series.  First up is up and coming producer DJ Sai with "Thoughts Of Life".  A project long time in the finalization.  But good things come to those who wait and here we move you with Sai's original production.  While mixing the project, Thompson was inspired to write a song to the music bringing to it social commentary which finally blossomed into an additional remix by Keith.  South Africa has been one of the centers of house music for a few years now and when DJ Sai tested the remix out at a recent jam, the party was elevated.

The Sampler features an amazing collective of today’s most gifted vocalists, musicians, and one of the hottest Producer / DJ’s on the scene, Brazil’s finest import – DJ Meme. Here’s a brief summary of what’s on the package.
1) “Work It Out” featuring Wendy Brune’ (GJs Funk Fusion Dub)
This is one of 10 bumpin’ mixes, and part of a package that was earmarked as the first official single release from the forthcoming album
2) “Dr. Feelgood 2008” featuring Diane Carter (DJ Meme’s Philly Suite Mix)
DJ Meme’s remixing skills are on full display here as he leaves no stones unturned, and delivers a knockout punch that would make Gamble & Huff, and Vince Montana proud.
3) “In The Zone” (GJs Rough & Raw Mix) the title cut from their forthcoming album, is a dark, brooding, space tech beast that is pure unadulterated filth! Complete with hypnotic chants, broken beats, melodramatic orchestral strings, punctuating synth stabs, and one very nasty bass line – “Zone” bolsters Parrish & Evan’s reputation as one of the elite production teams on the planet! Serious, serious heat ya’ll!!
4) “Pulled Me Through” featuring Solara (GJs Elevation Mix)
The Album preview Sampler would not be complete without giving praise to the man upstairs for all His glory. “Pulled me
Through” features the incomparable Solara who offers the most stirring performance of her ultra impressive career. Inspired from a near fatal experience, her passion and soul resonates throughout as she gives testimony to The Almighty with some of the most emotive spoken word, and vocals ever recorded on a dance project.

Spiritual Blessings pres. Kumasi
Gotta' Keep Faith

Hard to avoid these two guys when it comes to GKF! They are everywhere. Producers, remixers, deejays... Ezio and Jean have been involved with Gotta Keep Faith Records since the very beginning of the story. Rumor says that they are now producing Susu Bobien for a major GKF release which will be presented during the WMC.
Deep... in the jungle! Before reaching Miami, the Italian boys must have spent some time in Africa to prepare this single. The “Original Mix” is the perfect balance between deep and afro-house, drums seems to be played by an entire army of bongos, and the mama’s vocals are going to put the crowd into a trance. The “SB in Da Deep Mix” really sounds like some true Italo-deep-house from the early 90’s and includes a crazy synth solo. But the guys must have been too deep in the jungle! That’s where they got their inspiration for this “Lost in Ghana Mix”, an Afro hypnotic version which could definitely be used as a war chant. Glad they came back in one piece!
