Transcontinental dance music cultures collide once again as King Street reveal volume 2 of their acclaimed Tokyo Calling compilation series. Over the course of its 14 year history, King Street have been known for bringing some amazing talent from the Far East and using New York-based producers & remixers to blend sounds and styles resulting in some of the most beautiful house tunes ever to radiate out of club speakers. Featuring heavyweight artists and producers of the Tokyo & NYC House Music scene, Tokyo Calling 2 is another outstanding episode of deliciously soulful and deeply moving house grooves.
For this second leg of this cross-cultural clubland collection two brand new exclusive tracks feature. The first is the new single forthcoming on King Street from the illustrious talents of afro-funk producer Jephte Guillaume feat. Toshiba/EMI Japanese songstress AK, with a real stunner titled ‘Shining Your Way’ re-edited by Danny Krivit; and Tokyo’s Latin-infused house duo Studio Apartment team up with NYC’s Blaze on ‘The Rising Sun’. Violinist Chieko Kinbara makes an appearance with ‘If Only You’ remixed by San Francisco super producer Kaskade, alongside tracks including Vision Questa’s “Hold My Heart” remixed by Ricanstruction label master Frankie Feliciano, the #1 Billboard Hot Dance Music Club Play single “Glory of Life” by Mink, remixed by Darryl James aka DFA and the Orienta-Rhythm King Street Edit of Stephanie Cooke’s ‘Everything’, among other gems. Tokyo Calling 2 also features some beautiful tracks never available on cd until now, including the legendary Ananda Project ’Cascades Of Colour (Sugar Love Mix), Double Desire (Frankie Feliciano Remix), Japone Brethren Wave (SILVA & macrophage lab.) and long-time #1 house artist Urban Soul with ‘Love Is’ (Tomo King Street Remix).
