Ladies n’ gents.. Skip the line, go behind the velvet rope and take your place in the SWANK V.I.P. room, the boys are ready to move you with a large dose of what we call QUALITY HOUSE!

“The key is consistency.” So says Brian Varga - alias Halo – house music lover, DJ, producer, and label owner. It’s a simple yet highly effective policy that has guided Halo through 16 years of a successful house music career. Born in Chicago, Halos inspiration was always close to home as he was introduced to house music in the city most notorious for constructing the genre. Halo took to the decks at such an early age where he was quick to create alliances with hometown DJs and rapidly began releasing solo and joint projects on Moody Recordings and Catalyst Recordings. Halo relocated to San Diego where he had the opportunity to tap into the unchartered territory of Southern California where he brought to the masses a fresh sound, along with a new beginning in a different city. From the early days of selling 30,000 units of his now classic “Future” 12” on Siesta Records, to today’s more soulful spinning throughout Europe’s festival circuit or at one of his many international DJ residencies, to owning a thriving record label, City Deep Music, Halo always has something beautiful to contribute to the world of quality house. Halo’s love for spinning records has seen him grace clubs all over the world and for five years Halo has played London's Fabric as a bi monthly resident. From his aforementioned solo success on Siesta, to his legendary collaboration’s with Hipp-e as H Foundation, to his upcoming releases slated for his CityDeep label, Halo’s work is marked with kind of consistent quality that has kept renowned DJs such as Louie Vega, Marques Wyatt, and DJ Deep constantly checking for and spinning his productions. His future projects include collaborations with Franck Roger, Marlon D, Alix Alvarez and Mr. V among others.

As a respected talent from NYC, Alix Alvarez has worked with some of the industry’s top artists and produced stunning musical gems for some of the world’s best underground dance labels. Born and raised in the Bronx, Alix grew up around a mixture of music where Hip-hop, R&B and Salsa were a daily consumption of his musical diet.  Club Shelter as well as other underground institutions played a vital role in shaping Alix‘s sound. Inspired by both the music and the DJ’s, he began to promote himself by selling his mixed tapes on the streets, before stepping forward to create the music he loved. His interest in learning about the recording studio eventually led him to an assistant engineer position at MAW studios where he started to make his own music. Alix has produced and remixed records for some of the worlds most respected deep house labels. The underground smash “Rising Into Joy”, which he produced and co-wrote with vocal legend Arnold Jarvis, was released on Blackvinyl Records in spring of 2002. This is just one example of many records that has Alix’s deep, sultry, jazz influenced productions. His other productions include the “Nu Breed E.P.” (Essence) and the “Reflections E.P.”(Dancetracks). Some of his remix work includes Tortured Soul “How’s Your life?” (Central Park), House Headz “The Anthem” (Ricanstruction Label), Luna “Alone” (Distant), Alma Horton "Gimmie That Music" (83 West), Santos "Love Made For Two" (Yoruba) and Mr.V "Jus' Dance"(Vega Records). Alix  has rocked crowds all over NYC including underground hot spots like Bang the Party and Club Cielo, as well as global cities  such as Tokyo, Paris, London, Istanbul and Toronto. Alix and his partner Dj Mr.V,  established a popular underground dance party in NYC named Sole Channel. The duo decided to put the party on hold and concentrate on developing another project of their own, SOLE Channel Music. Armed with fresh sounds, new ideas and exciting new collaborations from artists' such as Franck Roger, Siji and Arnold Jarvis this acclaimed label is rapidly capturing the attention global music fans and DJs alike. - Words: Sarah Foote
